Description:
The powerhouse is a 50m x 34m x 18m high building used to generate power for the Voisey's Bay site. The building contains a 10T and 2T overhead crane as well as a section with 2 levels of concrete topped steel deck on steel beams.
Andrew Blundon, P. Eng. of SDI was contracted out to SNC Lavalin to aid in the design of this building. This included STAAD analysis plus coordination with mechanical and electrical to generate structural drawings.
