Crane Systems
An area of structural engineering specialty service offered by SDI Engineering is crane system design and upgrades. Structural upgrading of an overhead crane includes a complete assessment of the crane bridge beams and girders, runway girders, end trucks and often the building structure. Strucural Design Inc. have developed many "in-house" software programs to assist in the efficient solution to an upgrade project.
- Iron Ore Company of Canada: Upgrade No. 4 Garage Gantry Crane. Increase in capacity from 30 to 60 ton.
- Upgrade of overhead crane from 20 to 35 tons at the Marystown Shipyard.
- Investigation of potential crane upgrade at the Iron Ore Company of Canada in Labrador City for a 100 ton lift using a 30 ton capcacity crane.
